Herbs for digestion. Herbs to help gassiness, bloating, and pain

Herbs to Help you Digest

We're at that time of year again, where we are consuming lots of large meals, lots of sweets and treats, and lots of foods that just sit heavy in our bellies. Not to mention that as the days get longer and colder, we are more naturally inclined to crave foods that are heavier and comforting. This can leave us feeling bloated, gassy, sluggish, tired and unmotivated, and possibly constipated. Below are just a few herbs to take before or after meals to help you feel not so blah.

To stimulate digestion, bitters help move stagnation in the liver increasing bile production and excretion. This also helps with bowel movements, stomach acid production, indigestion, and high cholesterol. Try Dandelion Root, Artichoke Leaves, and Burdock Root.

For heartburn, reflux, and gastric inflammation, soothing herbs help to heal the gut lining. Try Marshmallow Root, Calendula, and Chickweed.

Gas, bloating, and upset stomachs are the most common complaints. Carminative herbs help to move the trapped gas through by relaxing the intestinal muscles. Herbs like Peppermint and Ginger help to soothe an upset stomach (though Peppermint may aggravate reflux)

Try our Happy Belly Tincture before meals or our Minty Digestive Aid Tea after. Our Herbal Coffee helps to move stagnation and start your morning off right.
